My mission is to nurture the creative spirit in everyone I meet. Whether your comfort level is painting from a photo or still life set up, to painting from my step by step instructional packets, I would be privileged to guide you on your journey of self expression.

Here you will find instructional materials in oils and acrylics and products to make your painting time more enjoyable. Take a look at my travel schedule - I may be giving a workshop near you - and look over information about classes at my central Pennsylvania studio. Stuck in an artistic rut? Break thru with one of the Saturday no-holds-barred discovery sessions where we combine creativity exercises with exploring a new medium or art form. You never know what you will find yourself faced with in a Saturday session designed to blast through your artistic inhibitions. If you are interesting in owning an originals work, I have a limited number of paintings for sale and do work on commission. Contact me to speak, demonstrate or conduct a workshop for your group

What a fabulous life! I travel to teach and study all over the world; in July of 2005 I had the unique privilege of studying decorative painting in Florence, Italy. The classes were held in the center of the artisan’s district in Florence, at the studio run by Carlo Martelli, an accomplished gilder who does restoration work for the Uffizi.  I was awestruck to observe works in various stages of repair leaning against the walls of the classroom. During the first week of the course, I studied the various forms that make up the “grotesque” style of furniture painting under accomplished artist Alison Bukhgalter. If I had realized that during the second week, I was going to study gilding with a master gilder, I probably would have been paralyzed with fear. Read more about my adventures in Italy.
